Cory's 33rd Birthday

Today Cory turned another year older. My favorite moment from today, is after we nursed first thing this morning Laurelea and I sang him happy birthday. She can kind of say happy and tries to say birthday, but she knows when in the song to insert Daddy and does so appropriately. We have been practicing when we drive home from day care without Cory. It was so cute to see how impressed she was with herself and how astonished Cory was with her this morning.

Cory spent the day fishing in the Anacostia. When he came in from fishing on the Anacostia and said that I could not touch him as the folks down at the river warned him about how toxic the water was.... So thankfully, we opted to go out to eat this evening rather than eating his catch.  His big b-day celebration will be this weekend but we did go out with some friends for dinner.

Vicki is here and she baked him a delicious cake that we enjoyed on our patio this evening. All and all I have to say that I've enjoyed Cory's birthday and hope he has as well.

Over the weekend I traveled to Seattle for Karli's baby shower. Lots of family and friends came to celebrate them and it was so nice to see them and connect with old family friends.  Unfortunately, my camera decided to die and so consequently I only got a few pictures of the set up.

We had a nice relaxing day. We got home late last night from Maine, so we all slept in and then headed to the driving range. Grammy is in town for the next month so she helped entertain L while Cory hit a bucket of balls.

On Friday, Chris, Cory and I rented Kayaks for the day. We expected to have fun tooling around, we expected for them to drop a line in the water, but we never expected for Chris to catch this monster...
