The Ground Hog Lied

The ground hog lied this year. He said Spring would come early. Well Spring is here, and this is what we woke up to this morning!

It is really pretty but super wet

a certain someone was not quite sure about it

Finnegan's 3rd Birthday Party

On Saturday after L's nap we went to Finnegan's 3rd birthday party. They had the cutest theme and did a camping styled party.
Here is L with some static electricity in a little tent they had for the kids to play in

Easter Adventures

Laurelea and I dyed our own eggs on Saturday morning.

getting our dye ready, we did red, blue and green.

someone was pretty proud of herself. She loved dying the eggs and decorating them with princess stickers from Grammy.
Next on our adventures of Saturday was a trip to see the Easter Bunny and Egg hunt at MaGruder Park. This is our third trip to see him. Here are the highlights from the last couple of years; 2011 and 2012. Pretty crazy that L has been able to celebrate 3 Easter's in her life.

who is that big girl?
Laurelea probably had the most fun, cracking the Easter eggs and eating them. Before we left for the park she had eaten 4 of the 6 that we made :)

Delicious!

After the breakfast we went out to the Easter dance party at the park. This is L checking out the bunny.

I was pretty shocked that she got so close to him.

This is the first year that we have done the egg hunt. The two other times we had to miss it because of morning nap.

and off they went

L did a great job finding her eggs and putting them in her basket

her favorite part was that she found a lollipop. She also got her finger nails painted!

once she had her eggs it was tough for her to let go of her basket

Rowan is L's new friend at day care. He comes twice a week and they are pretty attached. They held hands for probably 5 minutes or so and in the toddler world this is quite a thing.

A busy week

We had a really busy week this past week. Here are some of the highlights:

L got a few Easter packages in the mail and here she is sporting her new hat and strawberry outfit from Grammy!

Grammy also sent this adorable little Easter Bunny that L now takes with her everywhere!
On Tuesday night we went over to McCamy's house for a mussel feast. The girls had mac and cheese.
Wednesday after day care we had a good bye party for Nyla. Nyla and her family are moving to SC. We sure are going to miss her!

A Cold Hike at Great Falls

On Sunday we were feeling adventurous and Laurelea has a fascination with water so we headed to Great Falls. We were struck by all the water and had a nice little stroll out to the falls and back. We realized that it's been awhile since we were here. Here is the link to the last time we were at Great Falls.

Baby Shower for Christina

an adorable Mom to be!
On Sunday afternoon I went Christina's baby shower in DC. She looks amazing and it was such a fun afternoon celebrating her! They are having a little boy and we can't wait to meet him!

Our week in review

We had an odd week. We went from a false snow storm on Wednesday (it was predicted, the government shut down, but the snow never came) to an incredibly warm Spring weekend. We spent a lot of time this weekend digging in the dirt and running around the back yard. Not many pictures were taken but here are a few.
L and Avery on her little 4 wheeler. This is the first time that L really got on a took it for a spin. Avery was a great side kick.

Time for sunglasses (or maybe 1/2 shades/1/2 rock star)

Hair at the park

We ran into George at the park! They were both so excited to see each other. George and his family were away this past week at the Grand Canyon.
