Fossil Finding at Calvert Cliffs

L and Cory on the trail
Today we went to Calvert Cliffs down in Southern Maryland to find us some fossils. It was a perfect day for a hike and time at the beach. L loved finding the rocks, tasting the rocks and saving the rocks in her bucket. Round trip we hiked 3.6 miles and L did great in her pack. Have to do this again when she is a little older and maybe we will find a shark tooth.

On Saturday was the Annual Hyattsville Hops Hop where we all meet at the park for a potluck and then venture around the hood to meet and mingle with beer. There were 180 families registered and after the potluck we are divided into 4 teams and finally meet back together at the end of the night. We had a sitter come and watch L so both Cory and I could enjoy. Here are some pictures from the potluck.

Beef-it's whats for dinner

On Sunday Cory made a brisket. It involved a lot of time outside by the grill, a lot of meat and of course we had to have friends over to help partake. For not being a beef fan, it turned out alright. I don't actually have any pictures of the meat, but plenty of the kiddos.

Bounce House Heaven!

Ready to party-Texas style
Laurelea's day care hosted an annual party for the families on Saturday. She had to get dressed in her game day attire, but the highlight was the bounce house that they rented for the kids. She had never been in one before and absolutely loved it!

Baking with friends

Jackie and Lucy joined us this afternoon to make use out of the 15 lbs of apples that we picked at the orchard. The girls had such a good time eating, mixing and eating some more.

Apple Picking- 2012

Last year we were a little late in the season to get the good baking apples, so we headed out to Butler's Orchard for our annual apple picking adventure. We choose to go here as they have the best slides and we knew that L would love to get back on the slide again. Here is the link from our apple picking trip last year. Now we need to peel the 15 lbs of apples. We scaled back from last year, but it still looks pretty daunting on our kitchen counter.
