Daley's B-day!

We had such a good time at Daley's 4th birthday celebration! It was hard to top last year as L had such an incredible time. Here is the link to her party last year. I'm so impressed with the number of kiddos and family members that were there. I'd guess there were over 50!

The Bergs

It's been a tough transition for us. One of our closest family friends made the decision to move to Springfield, VA. For those that don't live in the DC area it is a pretty far trek. Laurelea and Avery have been super close since Avery was born. They have been in the same day care and really been a huge piece of our lives. We had our last Friday night dinner and it was bitter sweet. Here are some pictures of our time together...
Lonna and the munchkins....
Go to bed! It was a very popular game that evening..

We know that we will stay close, but will miss the weekly get togethers, hang sessions, park meet ups and daily contact with each other at day care. Lots of hugs to Esther, Korey and Avery as they make this move to their new home and lives in VA!

College Park Air and Space Museum

I'm behind on the blog. Two weekends ago L and I went to the College Park Air and Space Museum. The museum is super close to our house. We went right when the opened and both had a blast! It's something that we have to remember as we get into the cold season...

They had so many different forms of things L could fly... they even had a plane that we could get in. She loved it!

 The museum
L the Ace Flying Machine-She loved this bomber jacket!

Had to fly the plane again with the jacket (of course)
She finally got the pilot hat that she was coveting after...

it was chilly but she would not miss the chance to play on these little planes outside

Another Year Older...

We've been preparing L for weeks that for my birthday we are going out to a "fancy" dinner. We picked out a very special outfit for the occasion. Grammy gave her this adorable dress and we have been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it! Laurelea loves Fancy Nancy, we've been talking so much about this "fancy" dinner that she thought she might even see Fancy Nancy at dinner. Unfortunately there was not a sighting, but I did have a wonderful birthday meal at our favorite restaurant- Bistot De Coin in Dupont Circle.

We looked over and L was eating the butter right out of the container. This is Cory catching her and her smirk for being caught.
She was very good at listening to the waiter (we've been talking about listening a lot)
Me and L at the restaurant
Once we got home, we enjoyed the home made cake that Cory made from scratch! It was my favorite-carrot cake!
Trying to get a picture with L
 Better attempt!
I like this one of her!
Thanks to our family and friends for all the messages, calls and notes. You know how to make a gal feel loved!

Veteran's Day Weekend

We had a very busy weekend at the farmhouse. Chris North and Cory went to the WV vs. Texas game in Morgantown on Saturday night. The game went into overtime so Chris and Cory did not get back to the farmhouse until 3:30 a.m.
L was excited to see her Dad the next morning!
We also spotted this cat. I thought it might be a cross bread with something else, but we think it's just a wild cat.
On Sunday Pete, Jess and the girls joined us for a night. We went for a walk out in the blistery wind to the "rocks". The "rocks" is an area just over the bridge where the kids can play around and toss rocks into a little outlet of the river.
L was excited to be at "the rocks"
 Jess and Naomi throwing rocks

It was just too cold so we headed back
Love this picture of the Daniels family
Once we got back to the farmhouse we had a nice meal on our table. This is the first time that we have used the table.

The next morning we went out for another walk. We went down to the community area and played in the sand.

It was so much fun to have friends out again at the farmhouse. We were thrilled that Chris, Pete, Jess and the girls could join us!

Halloween

L the Lion has been looking forward to Halloween for weeks. Jamila, Peter and Oliver hosted a crew of us all for drinks before we took to the streets. L decided that she wanted to walk the entire night so we headed off and hit a few houses before we got to the party.

Our excited Lion!
First stop.. we were all a little nervous
Once at the party it was so adorable to see all the kiddos in their costumes. Here is Henry as a dragon egg
 Rowan as spiderman
 Avery as Slash
Attempting to get everyone together for a group shot. This was like herding cats
 Meredith and Hannah
 Oliver
 And we are off..
with all these kids and families we were moving pretty slow. Plus our little Lion was pretty tuckered out.
We headed home to check out all her loot
