Ducks, Crabs and some Mallets

We headed out to Cantler's this morning for an amazing lunch. We had a great meal, with great company. After lunch we spent some time down on the docks checking out the fish, crabs and ducks. The kids loved seeing all the animals.

Avery spots the ducks

They decide to sit down and check them out

Ducks start to approach-- check out Esther's expression... the ducks were after Avery's fry, so she swiftly grabs it from Avery, tosses it into the water and saves Avery. I think Esther might have been a tad more traumatized by the event than Avery was.

Love this, Esther, Avery, Lonna and George

Saying bye bye, to our friends the ducks

Kisses for Nana and Papa

Laurelea misses her Nana and Papa. She asks for them all the time. At night she can't go to bed without finding their picture and kissing it. We were talking about them at lunch over the weekend and she needed to say hi, so I pulled out their picture and look how her little face just lights up when she sees them.

I am one buff gal to hold both these little ladies at once
On Sunday, Jackie, Pete, Lonna, Clay and George came over for a send off to my parents.

MLK

Me, Cory, L and MLK
Nana, Papa and L picked us up from the hotel and we headed down to the MLK to check out the newest monument in DC. I run past it several times a week, but it was the first time that Cory and L had seen it too.

L was a tad tuckered out so she opted to not ride in Bob

First Night Away

Cory and I had our first night away on Saturday night. We have both been away at different times, but this was our first night away from L together. We stayed at the Carlyle Suites Hotel in Dupont and had a great afternoon and evening all to ourselves. While we were away a certain someone was up to all sorts of fun things with her Nana and Papa.
She got to play with water in the bath

And drink the water from the tub (this is generally discouraged)

And play on the new turtle slide

Swim with Papa in the poo poo

Read lots of books with Nana

Brush her teeth with Nana

And got to go to the park in her jammies and party shoes

Day at the National Harbor

L and Papa counting cars
Mom and Dad have never been out to the National Harbor so we opted to spend our morning out there. We managed to stay dry in between storms but it made for some incredible shots.
