"hey Woody" |
It happened . . . Laurelea went from our little baby to a little girl this month. She is running around the house and yard, and loves telling us all about it. It's been tough to see on some fronts as she is full of spunk. Sometimes this is adorable and amazing. The tough part is that she has been been very frustrated this month and has started to hit, mostly on us. We have tried several different ways to help her deal with her frustration. As of right now we are working on gentle touches, expressing herself and her feelings, and working on showing her that her actions hurt others. So far, it seems to be working, slowly, but working.
The best news we learned this month is medical: while she might have enlarged adenoids producing a large amount of mucus, this means we get to skip a lot of the breathing treatments we were doing and she is probably not asthmatic.
Some of Laurelea's favorite things to do this last month have included learning how to jump, or at least attempting to jump (her feet don't actually come off the ground). It is hilarious to watch. She also mastered a play gym at our local park. She can climb up and slide down the slide all by herself. It is quite liberating for all. She also is becoming more self sufficient and plays by herself more around the house.
Laurelea is almost 29 inches tall, and weighs a little more than 23 pounds. She has 11 teeth (I think, it's difficult to get in there and check them out).
We love you Laurelea and look forward to our next month together.

Where's Cory? |
L loves to sit on her new ball from Nana and Papa. Thankfully it was positioned just right to allow her to do this without falling. |
