Day Care Holiday Party

Sunshine outdid themselves once again this year. The food was delicious and they were so generous and made us each a calendar for next year with pictures of L though out this last year.  Here is the link to the party last year.

We were maybe hiding in the corner... a certain someone was shaking she was so afraid of Santa, so we did not force her to go close to him.

George on the other hand loved him and gave him a High Five (George starts in just two weeks at Sunshine!)

This is the December page from our calendar. We are so pleased with our day care and so thankful to have them as our DC family.

Holiday Hood Party

On Sunday Lonna and I hosted a Holiday Hood Party. We did it all in one party.. cookie exchange, secret Santa, snow globe making for the kiddos, food, and drinks. The kids loved it and somehow our little house survived the event.
We made ornament cookies to exchange

A certain someone loves her new princess costumes from Nana and Papa. You can't see but she is actually wearing another tutu under the princess outfit. She absolutely loves to fly, and Cory got some super cute shots.

Holiday Fun

Cory and L in front of the tree
On Saturday night we went out to the National Harbor to check out the holiday festivities.

they had a few boats with lights which was really neat
Don't worry...there was sand and certain someone took a taste. Will she ever grow out of this?
On Sunday we made a gingerbread house. By made I mean we bought one at the store and put it together Carlyle style.
L did really well putting on the gumdrops

she was pretty impressed, as were we..

lesson to all parents-hard candies are choking hazards (no worries she was fine)

final product

after the 10 attempt with the self timer we finally got a family shot...

Day with Mom

Cory had to work after our brief encounter with Santa so L and I headed downtown for some girl time.
We stopped by the ice skating rink. She was pretty fascinated and liked watching everyone.
Then we went over to the National History Museum to check out the dinosaurs and mammals.

she liked the under water area

we had lunch with the mammals

and then headed back home on the choo, choo (metro). She was a little freaked but by the end of it , she got the hang of it.
