Memorial Day Weekend

We had a nice long holiday weekend. We headed out to the farmhouse to check in on the work that is being done out there. We purchased a few kayak's and took them for a spin. It was so much fun! Then we headed to Avery's 3rd Birthday (so hard to believe that she is 3). Here are the highlights from our weekend..

We are currently using the old row boat's oars. Might need to invest in some real paddles.

Our friend the bear was back. After seeing him around the same time on two different evenings, several weeks apart, we can assume he lives here!
The bridge was "closed", but we still went over it. Look at what the flooding did..

26 Weeks!

Scooter and I are doing well. We had an appointment last week to check on the cord and it is still a marginal cord insertion and not a velamentous cord insertion, which is great news. They will continue to monitor us to be certain that it doesn't turn into this. We also went to a specialist and it was determined that we will have a C-Section. I'm of course a little nervous about this, but as it's the best case scenario for both me and Scooter so this is what we will be doing. They are planning on scheduling our C-Section the week of August 18th, so he will come at least a week early (keeping my fingers crossed that it's not before then).

Scooter is still big, but not as big as he was measuring the last month that we were in. He is in the 90th percentile for size and measuring a week ahead of where we actually are.

I'm just a few weeks away from the third trimester, but I'm already feeling it. I'm getting tired and have to sit down and rest after I've been on my feet for a bit. I also can't eat as much in one sitting and need to eat smaller and more meals throughout the day. I absolutely love sparkling water and can't get enough. This entire pregnancy I could eat french fries for every meal if I'd let myself. I try to limit it to once a week at the most :)

L, Cory and I were playing princess ballerina last night and took some silly pictures (which of course L insisted on).
I'm going to eat you up (she loves to say this from one of her favorites, "Where the Wild Things Are")
 Hugs for brother
I'm not sure what she was doing?
This big sister is getting excited about being a big sister!

In case you were wondering about all the boxes in the living room, those are the kitchen cabinets for the basement renovation... We bought a house for L, and are renovating for Scooter :)

Here are a few pictures from when I was pregnant with L at 26 weeks!

First sleep over

Laurelea had her first sleep over on Saturday night. We went out to Virginia to stay at the Berg's. Avery and L had tons of fun playing, the going to sleep part was pretty tough for them both. I think we learned a good lesson that even if Mom is there that it is still pretty tough to do something so completely new.

Dim Sum

We had a fun weekend while Cory was away in NOLA on a guys trip. We went to Avery's for Laurelea's first sleepover (pictures coming shortly). On our way home, we were hungry and needing to eat before we did some grocery shopping. L was insistent on rice so landed at a random resturant in VA and she tried Dim Sum. She loved how the carts came to the table and we would discuss what we wanted to try. She was also a pro at chop sticks.

The two handed method is my preferred method...

 Here was her fortune
I think the shrimp balls were her favorite

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. We started off the weekend with the first Summer Jam of the season. On Saturday we headed out to the farmhouse to see all the work that Joe and his team had done on our house. One of the highlights was getting in an old inflatable raft that my parents gave us. It was quite the adventure getting down the river. By the end of the trip there was not much raft left and we were thankful that we made it through the journey without the need to swim.

That evening we had our first bear sighting. It was in the field below our property. It hung out for quite awhile.

Sunday we had a nice day in Berkeley Springs. L played in the Springs, we went to the farmer's market and had a nice morning before heading home.

We took pictures around the house. More will be updated on the farm house blog, but these were really funny as L kept on photo bombing the shots. This is her room with the old original log house exposed
