Poo Poo Memorial Day Party

Last week Cory and Jason put up the pool. So we had to have our first party of the Summer season. We had quite a few folks join us given the holiday weekend.

Avery Turns 2

Avery turned 2 on Sunday and had a blast of a bash down at the Bladensburg Waterfront Park. 

They rented the pavilion and it was a perfect spot

 The highlight for L of the party was the boat ride. She was so excited to go on a boat!

Tuesday/Wednesday Hang

The doctor advised Talan not to fly for at least 48 hours. So we got to spend two extra days with Karli, Jason and Talan. The weather was great so we spent time after work playing in the back yard. Here are some highlights:

 We had so much fun having Karli, Jason and Talan here. Karli is so good at taking pictures that I used her pictures from the time they were here. She also keeps a blog so if you want to see more from their time here or a different take on the week check out her blog here. (we promised each other that we would not look or be influenced by each other's ideas)

Zoo with the Crew

On Monday of last week we went to the Zoo with Talan and L. They both loved checking out all the animals but the highlight was the Sea Otters.

 A new section has opened up at the Zoo call the American Trail. It was so neat and both the kids loved playing with the Sea Otters...

After the American Trail we headed over to Amazonia. I raved about how cool this was..

We spotted this odd looking bird and Karli took a picture.

 Next thing we knew the bird charged us

 It was pretty horrible as I jumped back and then realized that L was till there. Thankfully I got to her in time, but the bird was miffed that we were standing on it's rail.

L said, "wow the bird got me"

 Uncle Jason wanted to check out the Orangatang walk. We lucked out and they were out.

 After we got home from the Zoo Talan wasn't looking to good so Jason and Karli took him to Urgent Care.

Poor little guy had an ear infection 

So we spent the afternoon playing in the back yard...

Baltimore Aquarium

Sunday everyone was feeling better and so we headed to the Baltimore Aquarium. Both the kids loved it. There were no strollers allowed. L did a great job of walking through the entire thing. We'd always wanted to go but never been and are so glad we waited...
