Seattle Bound

We had a family trip planned to see family and attend Talan's 1st birthday party. We traveled last Thursday and returned on Tuesday. It was a quick trip but we packed in loads of fun. Here are the highlights from our first day and catching up with Talan, Karli and Gramma Titch!

We gave Talan a baseball game that L had! He loved it!
Karli giving T-man a ride in his little truck
 L giving him a spin
 cuddle time
We stopped off at Gramma's as we knew that she was not going to be able to make it to Talan's party. She has been having trouble with her hip and can't walk well. While we were there L tried out her exercise bike

The leaves are incredible so I had to include a few shots

Day Care Field Trip

Over a week ago we went on a day care field trip to Clark Elioak's farm. The weather was perfect and we had a fun filled day at the farm.

 Laurelea loves her Sulma.

 George having lunch
This is about as close as we got to the pony after waiting over a half an hour to ride :(
On the way back to the car we found a bus, and the friendly bus driver let the kids on.

Oliver got to ride the bus too!

Apple Butter Festival

On Sunday we headed out to the farmhouse for a  night as it was the Apple Butter Festival in Berkeley Springs. We wanted to be sure to catch the festivities. It was quite the thing. I would describe it more like a fair then a festival. Regardless even though it rained we still had fun.

Someone is ready to check out the festival.
L and I down at the festival. It was pretty wet, so we didn't take many pictures

On Monday morning as we were eating breakfast we noticed that two deer were joining us right outside

 Bam Bam
I didn't have my camera out there last weekend so here are some better pictures of fall at the FH

L and I walked down to the river (which was really up this week)

someone loves this mode of transportation
Cory went to the dump to haul away 360 lbs of drop ceilings. If you want to see pictures click  here. While he was at the dump L and I went for a nice walk.

We both liked these purple flowers

 L's geese

Fire trucks and a purple door

On Saturday there was an open house at the fire station in Hyattsville. Cory worked on a friend's fence so L and I headed up in the rain to check out all the fire engines. They had the entire street blocked off and we could walk right up to the fire engines and touch them.

 "look Mom an ambulance"
So excited she was doing the knee bend smile

Grammy gave us a great idea to chalkboard paint some pumpkins. As our paint is homemade when we went to color with chalk the paint came off. We still liked how they turned out and thought they were pretty spooky!
Earlier in the week I painted our front door purple. Here is L showing us that she is wearing a matching outfit with the door. She is really into matching right now!

Fall and Furlough

After my first week of being off from work due to the ridiculous furlough, we headed out to the farmhouse for a much needed reprieve from DC. We took our bikes out this trip and we all enjoyed exploring the area.Of all the times to forget our good camera it sat at home, so these pictures are not the best of quality, but you get the gist of the colors.

We rode over 7 miles on Saturday

On Sunday we headed into Berkeley Springs. L played in the water and pushed her baby doll all around town :)
