L looks like...

Her Dad, which is probably not surprising to anyone. We have been trying to figure out who she looks more like right now and I think the verdict is in.

This one is my favorite as she makes this face so often right now.

SOLID FOODS

After discussing the topic for the last several weeks we went ahead and took the plunge and introduced solid foods to L last night. She has been so interested in food and frankly my supply is just not cutting it for her.  We started her off with yams. The progression is below. We also have a video that I'll try to post soon.
Not really certain about this food thing. Needed to make certain that I was holding the spoon exactly like she wanted.

Looking to Dad to make certain that he approved of this

Still a little worried about us as parents finally letting her have food

had to take control of the situation. She would pull the yams from the spoon with her finger and see if she could get it in before the spoon did

Look Mom, I'm a big girl and can eat food all by myself

The Kitchen Goddess

Someone is a huge fan of helping out in the kitchen. She needs to be in the center of it all, and her spot in the middle of the island does the trick.

Fiona and her folks came over for dinner. Fiona demonstrated how to eat solids. L was captivated

Weekend Highlights

We've been up to all sorts of fun new things this weekend. From learning to walk on Dad to Bobbing around in her new Bob stroller. It's been a fun an eventful weekend and we still have her BFF Fiona coming over later this evening.

Cold chillin on the chair... I love how her arm is just hanging out relaxing

Playing with Lulu

The tags are the best part of course, not all the cool songs she sings or the fact that she rocks.

Nana's back in town...

While I was away on a work trip which was my first night away from L...Grammy and Grampy left and Nana came for a month. It was tough to say good bye to Grammy after all the good times we had. L has been a little apprehensive about this new lady and her curly hair, but they are growing on each other :)

Trombone Shorty

Cory busted out his trombone for L. The first couple of times she has been pretty frightened of it, but today she really liked hearing Dad play. She even busted a move to the beats!

5 Months Old!

Laurelea is 5 months old today. The highlight of this month's birthday was that she was able to celebrate it with Grammy and Grampy. Laurelea you are doing so much more and making every day such fun. You love to yell and scream when you see us walk into the room. You kick your feet and reach up your arms for us to get you when we get you from a nap. This makes us feel so loved. Your fine motor skills have really developed this last month. You can hold your toys with your hands, and even pick things back up once you dropped them. You are still our little wiggle worm so it is tough to keep you entertained for more than a couple of minutes. Your exercaucer is still your favorite toy. You now sleep with either Sophie (your giraffe) or your mushroom and that really seems to help calm you (thanks again Grammy for helping us with this). The vacuum still does the trick in a pinch to put you back out the sleep. Maybe during this next month we can get you to sleep in your crib rather than taking naps in your swing... this is a big goal for us. You have become so interested in food and mimic us when we are eating by moving your jaw. Any day your teeth will come in but for the moment you are all gums. We can't wait to see how you will continue to grow and develop this next month. We love you tons and tons.

Giving Woody a hug...awww

Eating Woody... we tried to discourage this, but she was obsessed with trying to eat him

Took a moment to laugh at how funny she was being trying to eat Woody

yummm
