Zoo with the Hansel Crew

The Zoo was in order on one of the hottest days on record in the DC area. Mazzy was super excited to see the Panda's- this is her scratching her head like the baby panda- she is impressively flexible
 Iko showing me the elephants
Mazzy can read- she is 6, so L asked her to read just about every animal description- it was a long day at the Zoo
There is a splash pad at the Zoo and it was perfect for the kids to cool off in

We rode the carousel of course
Mazzy read the menu to L at the Thai place we grabbed a bite at
So cute and we so wished they lived closer so we could see them more :(

Father's Day Take Two and a Visit from the Hansel's

L was insistent that we bake for Father's Day. We talked a lot about making his favorite cake, but that really wasn't in the cards- so we went with his second favorite- strawberry :)

Cory and L went fishing, then we grabbed lunch at Franklin's. The Hansel Crew (Tonya, Andrew, Mazzy and Iko) came to visit in the evening. We did some serious pool time then the girls did a show for us. Mazzy is really into gymnastics and ballet. L just loved being with her :)

More good peeps leaving the hood

The Kerr family bought a home in Baltimore and had a good bye send off on Saturday. We have been friends since our L was tiny. Rowan was at Sunshine for a time and we are bummed that they too are leaving. No one else can leave- ever :)

Father's Day!

We decided to celebrate Father's Day a week early as we have some friends coming into town on the actual day. Cory wanted to go to the Bass Pro Shop and we all obliged him. It actually was a pretty fun day and Laurelea even caught a fish!

The amount of wall art was a tad frightening

 She got one!

They had this set up where we could take a picture

The aquarium was huge and really cool

Good bye to the Hays/Clays

It's been tough to take and comprehend that our dearest and closest friends are leaving us for Charlotte. While we recognize this is an amazing opportunity for Clay and for the family, it's a tough one to comes to grips with on a selfish level. So in honor of not dealing well with things we had a huge party to celebrate Lonna/Clay/George and Henry, where we partied, had fun and didn't mention the inevitable.. There were over 70 people that came to with them well on their new adventures. I'm sure I'll blog more about this but I'm still not quite ready to deal with the reality...

Hays/Clays to the FH

Lonna, Clay, George and Henry came out with us to the farmhouse two weekends ago. I'm way behind on blog updates. We had a great weekend! We grilled, hung out and even got the chance to take a nice long trip down the river on the kayaks.. on the guys and our trip down we had a bald eagle follow us the entire trip down the river (just under 4 miles). On my wish list is a water proof camera so we can capture some the amazing moments while on the river...

Lonna and I braved all 4 kids in one car- this is how it started :)
