Oh Will

We have had quite an eventful week. On my flight home from Seattle I noticed that Will was sounding raspy/junky and so Cory made a doctors apt for him. We were seen on Thursday and told to do breathing treatments for him again. By Saturday he started to spike a fever and on Monday afternoon he started vomiting. As he had been so sick for a few days he really wasn't eating much and we were really concerned that he was dehydrated. We took him to the ER Monday evening.

They tried three times to get an IV in him and were finally successful with his little foot. He also had to have blood drawn, a urine sample take (through a catheter), breathing treatments and was giving an antibiotic through the IV.

At the Holy Cross, the determined that they could not provide the best care for him, so we had to transport him to Children's Hospital in DC. It was his and my first ride in an ambulance.

Here is a picture of his little foot with the IV and the other is for his pulse ox.
We didn't get much rest at all Monday night so he did a good job of napping on us on Tuesday
 Here he is at Children's
We were discharged late Tuesday night. We are feeling so very thankful that our dear friends helped us with Laurelea on Monday, and Grammy flew in to help more on Tuesday. It has been a really nice surprise to have her here and get to celebrate Thanksgiving with her. We had a follow up for Will on Wednesday and he is still not out of the woods. He is on a steroid and breathing treatment, but we are slowly starting to see color come back to his little face and his temperament is improving.

Thanks to all our family and friends for their support throughout this week. We have a lot to be thankful for.

Will is 3 Months Old

Our little guy is three months old. Within the last three months you have traveled across the country, learned how to charm everyone with your infectious smile, express yourself and your wishes clearly, and found that your hands are absolutely delicious. The biggest accomplishment was that you rolled over on your birthday from your tummy to your back! We are all so proud of you, our little milestone man.

You weigh 13.5 pounds, and are 25 inches long. You still don't have much hair but your little feet are quite big so you have grown out of most of your 3 month onesies.

You are a very alert little fella and spend most of your days awake checking out the world. In order to get you to nap you have to be on the move or held. You do a great job of sleeping in the stroller, swing and car. We are a tad nervous about how this will work when you transition to daycare this next month?

You light up when you get around your family and love it when you are talked to and you always talk back so we just love our Will conversations.

We love you very much Bubba and can't wait to see what all this next month has in store for you.

Time in the Ham

On Friday afternoon we headed to the Ham (Bellingham). We spent from Friday through Tuesday at my parent's house. It worked out really well. We got in some great family downtime. The weather was pretty chilly so Karli, Jason and I got out for a few walks with my folks watched the boys.

Jason and Will chilling
The thing to do in the fall in Bellingham is to go downtown and see the fisherpeople catching the salmon as they are trying to get back up river. It's a thing we like to do as a family. It was cold out but still need to see the fish.

Family Meet and Greet

On Friday (my birthday) we had a family get together at Karli and Jason's cabana in their condo complex. Most of our extended family came to meet Will. He was great, giving out big smiles to everyone. It is so great that Karli and Jason have this space at their complex as their place is undergoing a huge renovation. For family pictures check out Karli's blog.

Visiting Gramma

Will and I headed out to Seattle on November 12th. The main purpose of our visit was to visit my grandparents and see family. Will was a little trooper. He did a great job on the plane. He was not fussy and so interested in his surroundings. So much so, that he managed to stay awake for the majority of both 6 hour flights. I'd forgotten what it was like to travel with a lap baby, and once I got to both costs I was pretty beat.

Here are a few pictures of Gramma and Will. It was really hard to see her like this. She has not been able to get out of bed for over 4 months. Her spirits were still really high and we had a great visit getting caught up on everything. Karli got a lot better shots on her cameras so check out her blog.

We are hopeful that the next time we are out in Seattle Gramma will be up and moving around!

A New Do

On Sunday we went to Pigtails and Crew-cuts in Annapolis MD. It was time for Laurelea to get her first real haircut. We've been hedging on this for so long as she did not have hair for so long. It was really getting in her face and it was time to do something about it. She and I went through pictures on line and she selected the cut she wanted. I think she was sold on it as we talked about how she would no longer need a barrette (huge source of contention in our house). So she was ready for the brush and go style.

Oh the apprehension...
Thankfully they had snacks for the kids

 And suckers!

This is not a flattering picture, but the only one I got on the camera of her close up in the chair after the cut...
After the hair cut we decided to try a new fish spot out. We cheated on your Cantler's. Honestly, it wasn't as good, but a good alternative as the lines there can be horrible.

 Yep, they are related!
