Crafty Family

I realize that this is a blog dedicated to updating everyone on the life of L, but I could not resist the chance to post on some of our recent projects...
Mom and I made adorable sheep to take to a neighborhood party
Had to include a picture of L with her crafty turkey day hat that she made at day care!

I took my baking skills to the next level by making my own fondant. It actually tastes better than store bought and although messy, is really fun to do...

Here is a bat cake that I made gluten free for a friend's engagement

what I'm most excited about is the advent calendar idea that I came up with...

I found these little stockings at Big Lots, added numbers, hung them in our kitchen and taa daa- Advent Calendar!

O' Christmas Tree

We went to Home Depot to get our tree this year....
We checked out all the options

L decided on this one

so we went with it and brought it home

she had fun helping decorate the tree

Antietam

On our way home we went by Antietam, known as the bloodiest civil war battle fields. It was a driving tour of over 8 miles of sites and scenic beauty. L even enjoyed the tour.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park

Team Carlyle
This weekend we went to Jellystone Park in Hagerstown MD. We went with Clay, Lonna and George. We each got our own little cabin right next to each other. The kids did great playing together and it was great for us to have the evenings to chill by the fire with other adults.

Yogi came to greet us.. L would not get close

our set up
The best part was that they had this huge bounce house outside. We spent quite a bit of time on this...

George got in on the action

Gobble Gobble

We had a very nice relaxing day. We went through all the adds to see what we could not live without, Laurelea went through several outfit changes. We would turn around and she would have her shirt off, and the best part was having a nice dinner at home just the three of us.
checking out the adds (outfit 2 of the day)

the turkey is done! (outfit number 3)

gobble gobble

our feast!

as the dishes were clearing a certain someone was starting to sneak some potatoes

this happened. I've concluded that this has to be a genetic tendency.. maybe passed along by me.

Turkey Trotting

Esther, Avery, L and I headed to downtown this morning to participate in the 11th annual turkey trot in DC. We were not alone there were 10,000 of us that thought this was a good idea. With strollers it was difficult to navigate. The girls had fun, especially after the race when they got to play at Esther's office.
L patiently waiting for the race to start

Avery ready to roll

after the race... not the best back drop, but a group shot!

had to add this one of Nyla and L from day care yesterday. They were turkeys, obviously!

Birthday Brunch

Cory and Laurelea hosted a great birthday brunch. Cory made the entire brunch by himself. L and I were pretty impressed. We had about 20 folks over and it was perfectly timed as today is Esther's birthday so we were able to do a double birthday celebration!
