We've been waiting for this...

L can now direct her walker and figure out how to maneuver her walker around. This has eased frustration for all around our house.

Scenes from the weekend

The weather was so nice for the last week then the weekend hit and the wind picked up. We had friends over for Happy Hour on Friday night and then headed to an indoor picnic at Molly, Jacob and Lucy's. We also did make it out the park on Sunday.

A new favorite word

I'd like to say that you need to listen carefully to hear it, but unfortunately that is not the case. In the last couple of weeks we have tried to set some boundaries and have started to use this word if there is a safety issue. We did not think that it would catch on so quickly..

Mardi Gras

L in her wagon (float)- she is a huge fan of the penguin  hat these days
Today while L was sleeping we made a Mardi Gras float especially for her. She was pretty excited to try it out this afternoon. We got ready and headed over to Pete, Jess and Jackie's as they hosted a Mardi Gras party. The girls loved to play with the beads and we loved seeing all our friends.

Getting the head gear out

Now it's party time

So off we go

Lucy was very excited to see L so she gave her a big hug

Jackie wore the head piece with style

L showed us her key board skills

And then it was King Cake time.. I got the baby

Fiona was pretty excited about the float so we gave her a lift home

We might need to take a spin tomorrow.. the girls love their pimped out ride!

Cousin Caroline

Jennifer (Cory's cousin) and her daughter Caroline drove up from Raleigh, NC to meet us on Saturday for a play date. We loved the quality time that we got to spend with them both. Caroline was very patient with L and L learned lots from her older cousin.

Cousins!

L needed to know where here Daddy was at all times.. we found him!

Caroline loved identifying the letters of the VA seal. She is one smart little girl.

She also found her own slide!

L was pretty jealous of Caroline figuring out how to slide

And this is what we spent most of the time doing... chasing after a certain someone who was determined  to climb the steps, over and over again.

Richmond, VA

We traveled down to Richmond, VA for me to attend a work meeting on Thursday and Friday. L and Cory played the day away at the Capitol on Thursday.

On Friday, I only worked a half a day so we walked around town ...

On Saturday, we went to lunch in Carrytown. We loved this area and wished that we could have spent more time there.

L was a tad possessive of the bill... it reminded us of someone...

It's Valentine's Day

On Sunday we went to the grocery store and L picked out her own Valentine's cards to give to her friends at day care. She loves Tinkerbell so she went right for those cards. She had a lot of fun personalizing her message on her cards last night...

She can walk and sign her cards at the same time..
This morning we had a few cards still to open. We also appreciate all the lovely cards from Great Grandpa and Grandma, Grandpa and Grandma Carlyle, and Nana and Papa.
Card from Auntie Karli and Uncle Jason

First pair of running shoes from Mom and Dad

Seriously cute

Reading her card from Neen, that came with stickers!
After a fun filled morning of opening presents, it was time to get ready for school. L loved her new Valentine's outfit from Nana and Papa.

Why is it....

That bare bums are just about the cutest thing in the entire world....

Play Date

L ready to roll
McCamy came over this morning to play with L for a few hours. Her parents took the opportunity to head to brunch while we got to do fun things like take the wagon for a spin in the house and play dolls. McCamy is two and was very patient with L. They had fun playing together and we were able to help out another family through the co-op.

McCamy knows the importance of safety

And they are off

New Chair and a Co-op Potluck

L checking out her new chair
Laurelea got a new chair in the mail this week from Mazzy. It's Mazzy's favorite chair and she had to get it for L for her first birthday. L loves it, and loves all the pretty Disney ladies that are on it. We also hosted a co-op potluck get together today. There were about 10 families that came over to play.

what a beaut..goes perfectly with the living room decor
